Constellation of Taurus

Materials: jasper, silver, diamonds

Height: 270 mm

The sculpture is an allegorical representation of the constellation of Taurus in the flow of ancient legends. In ancient Greek myth, Taurus is the snow-white bull that Zeus once turned into and stole Europa.

Taurus, the first sign of the Earth in the zodiac cycle and a symbol of the 2021, appears in the form of a bull mask with a pattern of loose stones collected in the celestial “horned” constellation. The eye of Taurus is Aldebaran, one of the most prominent stars in the sky, “following” the Pleiades and Hyades.
