Stone-carving sculpture “Jester” is a generalized plastic sign of such a unique phenomenon as jestenery. Gracefully, by half hint author touches on a whole layer of folk culture. The stone-carving cap of the jester is made of jasper with a beautiful “fabric” pattern. Jesters are wandering actors in Ancient Russia. This folklore theme, like the theme of maskers, has long been interesting to Sergey Falkin. Initially, the author was inspired by Russian ballets – first of all, the ballet “Petrushka” with its atmosphere of the St. Petersburg city fair, booths and a puppet theater on the fair square.
