St. Nicholas The Wondermaker
Material: bronze
Height: 310 mm
Length: 260 mm
The author’s bronze sculpture of the Saint is a deep metaphorical image that reflects the national and cultural traditions of Baikal Asia. Nicholas the Wonderworker appears as an Eastern elder, clinging to the shell, listening to the sound of the sea. The folds of the garment, like a water element, envelop the figure in a stream. The ancient wooden part of the gate at the sculpture’s base is a symbol of the transition to an unknown sacred space and the Saint is a wise ambassador of this world.
