“Cello”

The author’s stone-carving sculpture “Cello” is an allegory of the lyrical, soulful sound of the cello embodied in the smooth lines of an anthropomorphic image. Music frozen in stone plunges into a living and mysterious world under a light veil of soft pink quartz. In a skillful dialogue with the stone, its character and natural range of internal textures were revealed, resembling subtle vibrations, sound changes and the timbre play of musical variation.
