“Sculpture in stone of XX-XXI centuries” exhibition, 2015

From August 6 to October 2015 the exhibition “Sculpture in stone of XX-XXI centuries” ran in the State Russian Museum.

At the exposition were represented more than 60 sculptures of Russian and Soviet artists, since the turn of the XIX-XX centuries. These were the stone-cutting sculptures from the collection of the State Russian Museum, the workshops of St.-Petersburg and Moscow sculptors. On the examples of the stone-cutting artworks made in different genres and themes was possible to trace the main lines of development and transformation of the stone sculpture.

There also exposed the work of Sergey Falkin on the exhibition – “Abel”. “Abel” made of solid stone of black nephrite is the only of the exposed sculptures made of this rare kind of nephrite.
